Lake Tahoe - Nevada State Park

Six areas make up the over 14,000 acres of park. Sand Harbor offers a sandy beach, nature trail, and picnicking while Spooner Lake features wildlife viewing and fishing. For biking and hiking, Marlette/Hobart Backcountry has an assortment of trails. Cave Rock, Memorial Point, and Hidden Beach feature swimming, hiking, and picnicking opportunities.

Vikingsholm Castle

Take the tour of the 38-room castle built as a summer home in 1929. Nestled on the shores of Emerald Lake, Vikingsholm, with its outstanding scenic views, is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.Tours are available Memorial Day through September, daily. To access the castle, guests park in the designated area then walk a one-mile trail. Parking is limited, so plan to arrive early, if possible.

Squaw Valley Ski Resort

Winter or summer, activities abound at Squaw Valley. Relax in the hot tub, enjoy an aerial tram ride, ice skate, go snow tubing or snowmobiling, and go snowshoeing or cross country skiing. During the summer, there's hiking, paintball, roller skating, tennis, and golf. A nearby campground to Squaw Valley is Coachland RV Park in Truckee.

Fallen Leaf Lake

You'll have plenty of time to explore the area once you check in at the campground. Fallen Leaf offers standard, nonelectric RV sites from May 16 through October. RV and trailer sites include a paved parking space, campfire ring, picnic table and grill. Pets are allowed. Shower facilities and restrooms are onsite along with a camp store where you can buy firewood. Enjoy boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, canoeing, and more. Lake Tahoe's south shore is approximately one mile from Fallen Leaf Lake.
