Visit Acadia National Park

If you're looking for your next destination this fall, look no further than Acadia National Park. Taking the best qualities of the Atlantic Northeast and combining them into one spectacular park, Acadia National Park comes alive this time of year with brilliant fall foliage, offering stunning ocean views that are highlighted by the red, orange, and gold colors.

Acadia National Park is a United States National Park located in the state of Maine, near Bar Harbor. It reserves much of Mount Desert Island, and associated smaller islands, off the Atlantic coast.

The park is a joy to hike, as it includes a variety of terrains, such as mountains, an ocean shoreline, woodlands, and lakes. In addition to Mount Desert Island, the park comprises much of the Isle au Haut, parts of Baker Island, and a portion of the Schoodic Peninsula on the mainland.

For those who love to spot wildlife, Acadia is home to some 40 different species of mammalian wildlife. Among these are red and gray squirrels, chipmunks, snowshoe hares, white-tailed deer, moose, beavers, porcupines, minks, muskrats, foxes, raccoons, coyotes, bobcats, and black bears. Many other marine species have been observed in the surrounding area and waters.

Each summer several trails in the park are closed to protect nesting peregrine falcons. Other birds that are present in this park are golden eagles, various owls, various hawks, and even bald eagles.
